!!! THE PARTY HAS NOW ENDED AND THIS BLOG IS ARCHIVED. MEET ME IN LONDON. -- Anicet !!!
Damas Social Club is a weekly private social hangout and dance party in Damascus, catering to those people who want to enjoy quality music away from the crowded anonymity, commercial orientation, and bottle-service attitude of too many places in Syria.
The intimate underground club of Fardos Hotel (formerly known as 'Jackson') hosts the event, every Thursday from 10pm to 2am, starting on 4 February, 2010. In addition to being the warmest and cosiest dance venue in Damascus, the place boasts cheap drinks to put everyone in a mood for boogie.
At this party, no one is a stranger. Entrance is by password only, to keep the atmosphere friendly and familiar.
The music of Damas Social Club is like nowhere else in Damascus. Behind the decks all night, DJ Anicet spins songs that you might or might not know but that you love already. The sound will carry you from the 70's and 80's underground anthems of New York's Paradise Garage and Manchester's Haçienda to the more contemporary soulful, disco-infused house sounds produced in Detroit, New York, or Hamburg. All that, plus a hint of 90's French Touch hits, because, eh, who doesn't love Daft Punk?
Cover is 100L before 11pm, 200L after that.

See you on the dancefloor.
